We avoid last-minute errors or surprises with a model that guarantees everything flows, from start to finish, in the implementation of our mining projects.
“A demanding testing phase, with simulations and technical reviews by specialists trained and committed to the projects, constitutes the Commissioning (PEM) of all initiatives managed by Tunning-electric,” says Claudio Jara, founder and general manager of this company specializing in electrical automation for control systems in various industries.
Eduardo Morgado, the company’s Project Manager, explains that to initiate on-site services, in addition to ensuring that all cabinets are mounted, powered, and connected to all devices, they verify through a series of tests (FAT, CAT, IFAT) that the engineering activities planned at the headquarters – located in Santiago – have been tested and approved by the client.
This approach has allowed them to successfully implement control systems at Codelco’s Talabre Tailings Dam, Chuquicamata, with Siemens and Rockwell programmable logic controllers; the heavy tailings system for Enami; the black fume control system at Codelco El Salvador’s Potrerillos foundry; a pilot test plant at Angloamerican’s El Soldado; and currently, the system for the new oil company Caix, a SigdoKoopers project for Codelco’s Radomiro Tomic.

On-Site Work and Delivery
After inspecting the work area and verifying the correct installation of all equipment, the system is started, commissioning begins, followed by equipment and sequence testing, leading to the white run and final delivery with training for the client’s operations and maintenance personnel.
“Our specialists have cutting-edge knowledge for on-site work, but also the leadership to manage conversations with clients,” says Carlos Valenzuela, also a Project Manager at Tunning, who emphasizes that Tunning’s structured system of procedures and protocols allows for successful on-site executions.
“At CMP-Romeral, we successfully integrated the new Mill 2 into the Plant’s DCS, which came with programming from a European company,” says Carlos Valenzuela, Tunning’s Project Manager. Integration of the New Mill 2 into the system.
