Certifications award Tunning Ingeniería a seal of excellence

A sophisticated annual audit planning procedure has enabled the Chilean automation and electric drive company to reinforce a culture of continuous improvement that benefits the country’s major industries.

A concrete seal of quality for Tunning Ingeniería’s clients is its certification in various national and international standards related to its lines of work. One of these is ISO 9001:2015 certification, the world’s best-known international quality management standard.

Since 2007, Tunning has been preparing year after year for the external audit that leads to this certification. To this end, they have a structured annual planning procedure that considers previous processes, risks, and results. The company’s Human Resources team, led by Solange Poblete, involves all key areas of this process to align them with the requirements of the standard. “At Tunning, we see audits as an opportunity for improvement,” the engineer points out.

Preparation for this procedure includes pre-audits that allow gaps to be identified and corrective actions to be implemented in a timely manner. Then, open and collaborative support is provided during the audit, reinforcing Tunning’s culture of continuous improvement.

In addition, the company is responsible for the ongoing training and awareness of its teams through internal dissemination processes and other actions. Likewise, management review allows senior management, with formal knowledge of the performance of each of these processes, to allocate resources and improvement actions when necessary, thus capitalizing on the improvement options identified.

“We are very proud to say that we have obtained an excellent result in the audit process for recertification for another three years in ISO 9001:2015, with a scope covering the design, integration, and services of control systems for industrial process automation,” concludes the Head of Human Resources.

Providing guarantees for the country’s large-scale industry

Other supplier rating audits, such as SICEP, the rating system for suppliers to the mining and large industrial sectors in Chile, follow the same process. “For these instances, we specifically review our operational, quality, safety, environmental, and human resources processes, ensuring that they accurately reflect our actual capabilities for large-scale mining,” explains Poblete.

During the last SICEP 2025 technical visit, Tunning obtained outstanding results in Quality (96%), Safety and Health (94%), and Connectivity and Automation (100%), “figures that fill us with pride and support our value proposition as a supplier specializing in automation and control systems for large-scale mining,” says Solange.
